£199 LOFT AND CAVITY WALL INSULATION
Information from Kent Energy Centre on free phone 0800 3586669 www.kentenergycentre.org.uk
Loft
and cavity wall insulation is available for £199, for a typical
property, under a new initiative from EDF Energy and Kent Action to
Save Heat (KASH). Furthermore residents over 70 years of age will be
offered this for free, regardless of their income. This initiative is
part of the new Carbon Emissions Reduction Target programme set up by
the government.
The offer is available to non-EDF customers and is available throughout the 13 Kent local authority areas (including Medway).
The
government is aiming to reduce carbon emissions from the domestic
sector over the next few years and this new programme will help
householders by offering discounted and grant aided insulation measures.
Free
insulation is also available to people less than 70 years old on
suitable benefits and this can also be extended to heating improvements
for some.
Mike Bundy from the Kent Energy Centre said ‘this is
the best offer ever on insulation measures and shows the government is
serious in its attempt to combat the affects of climate change.’ He
added ‘more insulated properties means less harmful greenhouse gas
emissions being emitted and lower fuel bills, so both residents and the
wider community will benefit from this new initiative’
